Teaching In Lalander

This page is still under construction; however, read on:

Going Where Girls Aren't Allowed in Schools - not yet, anyhow!

The Lalander Valley is about 15 miles and 1 1/2 hours by bumpy road from Kabul. Two elementary schools serve the valley, but girls are not allowed to attend. Classrooms Across Cultures has been invited to lead teacher-training in this valley.

We'll Teach the Girls Anyhow

In 2008, we will train girls and teachers in home-based schools, which have been permitted in Lalander.

Teacher Training

In 2008, Classrooms Across Cultures will also provide teacher-training at the two elementary schools in the valley. It is vital that both girls and boys learn how to inquire and investigate. These skills will help overcome prejudice for everyone.

Trust in Education

This nonprofit agency has been instrumental in building the schools in Lalander Valley and has invited Classrooms Across Cultures to work together to improve standards of education.
