We have been traveling to Afghanistan since 2003. We teach science and train teachers there.
The trips are partly paid for by donations, but we fund a large amount of the trip with personal funds. Donations like yours allow us to teach more lessons to more teachers and students.
All donations are tax-deductible. Here's how you can help us out.
Donate Money
Please donate so that we can continue our projects. Read about these projects on our 2008 projects page.
A general monetary donation is very welcome. But many people prefer to sponsor a particular item or project so they know that their donation has gone toward something concrete and helpful. Below the general donation button (also below), I have listed a number of items I will purchase for my lessons. I will buy most of these items in Afghanistan, both to support the local economy, and to ensure that the teachers will be able to access the same supplies once I have gone.
Also, you can send a check or money order payable to CAC, or Classrooms Across Cultures:

Donate School Supplies
We do not accept all school supplies. Baggage charges are expensive, and supplies are heavy to carry to remote locations. Also, we prefer to teach teachers how they can use recycled or community resources when possible. If supplies do need to be purchased, it is best to purchase them in the host country. We ask that you consider donating money instead of supplies. Checks can be earmarked "supplies".
That said, we will be happy to discuss materials you wish to donate, to assess their suitability - and thanks for thinking of us! At right is a list of some supplies we usually take with us.
Supplies we can take with us
- Thermometers
- Sodium hydroxide (lye)
- …and other small, lightweight, sturdy items that cannot easily be found in Afghanistan. Contact us at moc.liamg|serutluCssorcAsmoorssalC#moc.liamg|serutluCssorcAsmoorssalC.
Donate Time
We need help with fundraising, press releases, web maintenance, scheduling. Your time will translate into improved education where it's needed most.
Come on a Trip
We encourage teachers, active or retired, to volunteer as a teacher for one of our trips.
Involve Children
Invite us to speak to your child's classroom, homeschool or organization. Children can help by becoming penpals to students in other countries, fundraising in a "Change for Change" program, or by adopting a classroom in one of our schools.
